Biz Tools Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Jhoshna Media handles information when you use Biz Tools and its associated account, backup, notification and support services. Biz Tools provides cash calculations, billing, invoices, expense tracking, Khata, Card Book, other calculators and games.
Business records can be saved on your device without a cloud account. Account services, advertisements, notifications and update checks can connect to online services independently of cloud backup. Business records are uploaded for backup and synchronisation when you sign in and enable cloud backup and sync.
1. Information we handle
Account information
If you create an account, we collect your name, email address and password for registration and authentication. Passwords are transmitted over HTTPS and stored on the account service as salted password hashes, rather than readable passwords. We also handle account identifiers, email verification status, password recovery tokens, session tokens, device or installation identifiers, and account creation and activity timestamps.
Business records and information you enter
Records may include cash amounts and denomination quantities; invoices and bills; customer names and phone numbers; item names, prices and quantities; business details; income and expenses; Khata credits, debits and remarks; and Card Book details such as card labels, last four digits, billing information, balances and transactions. The information handled depends on the features you use and the details you enter. Only enter information about other people when you have authority to do so.
Card Book is a record-keeping tool. Do not enter full payment card numbers, CVVs, PINs, banking passwords or one-time passwords in any field or remark. Biz Tools does not use your Card Book entries to authorise card payments.
Device preferences and local information
The app stores selected themes, currency and language preferences, voice preferences, game progress and other feature settings locally. It also maintains local records and synchronisation information, including record identifiers, pending changes, versions and conflicts.
Technical information
When online services are used, our hosting and service providers receive information needed to process requests, such as IP addresses, request times, app or device identifiers and service responses. Our account service uses rate-limit information to prevent abuse. Notification registration sends an app installation identifier and a Firebase messaging token to our notification service.
2. Offline storage and optional cloud sync
Business records are stored in the app's local database or browser storage on your device. When cloud backup and sync is enabled for a signed-in account, supported cash, billing, invoice, expense, Khata, Card Book, customer, item catalogue and business profile data is sent to our Cloudflare-backed service. Changes made offline remain locally pending and can be uploaded when connectivity returns and synchronisation runs.
Importing local guest records into an account copies eligible records into that account; guest copies may remain on the device. Turning off cloud backup or signing out stops subsequent account synchronisation but does not, by itself, erase records already uploaded. Offline-only records are not accessible to us through the cloud admin service.
Clearing app data, uninstalling the app or losing the device can remove local records. Device or operating-system backup behaviour depends on your Android settings. Exported backups are separate files under your control.
3. Microphone, speech recognition and spoken totals
Microphone access is used when you choose voice number entry. Speech recognition is provided by the speech service installed on your device. Depending on that service, its settings, installed language models and connectivity, audio may be processed on the device or sent to the speech provider, such as Google. Recognised text is used to populate the selected number field.
Jhoshna Media does not intentionally store microphone recordings on its business-record servers. A recognised number becomes part of a record only when you save that record. Spoken totals use your device's text-to-speech engine, which may use local voices or online processing according to the engine and voice selected. Offline availability varies by language and device. You can deny microphone access and continue entering numbers manually.
4. Advertisements and third-party services
Biz Tools displays advertisements, including banner, app-open, interstitial, native and rewarded formats. Google AdMob and any ad partners serving through its configured mediation or bidding arrangements may process IP addresses and approximate location inferred from them, advertising or other device identifiers, ad interactions and technical diagnostic information. This supports ad delivery, measurement, performance and fraud prevention. Ad personalisation depends on applicable consent choices, device settings and provider configuration. We do not provide your saved business-record contents, account password or microphone recordings to advertising services for ad targeting.
- Cloudflare: hosts the account API and cloud database and processes account, uploaded business-record and request information to provide these services. Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
- Resend: processes recipient email addresses and verification or recovery email content, including action links, to deliver account emails. Resend Privacy Policy.
- Google AdMob and advertising partners: provide advertisements and related measurement. Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from partner apps.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging: handles messaging registration tokens, installation information and notification delivery. Firebase privacy information.
- Device speech providers: process voice input or spoken output according to the speech engine and its privacy policy.
- Jhoshna Media website hosting: processes notification registration, update-check requests and ordinary website request information.
Service providers may process information outside your country. Their handling of information is also subject to their own privacy terms. Opening an external link or sharing a file sends information to the service or recipient you select.
5. How we use and disclose information
We use information to provide tools and record storage; authenticate accounts; verify email addresses; deliver password recovery emails; back up and synchronise records; deliver notifications and update information; provide advertising and rewards; respond to support requests; and secure the services against abuse.
Authorised Jhoshna Media administrators can access account details and uploaded records for support, account administration and service operation. We do not sell your saved business records. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, or when reasonably necessary to protect users and the service against fraud or security threats.
6. Notifications and permissions
Notifications may contain app announcements, feature updates or other service messages. You can disable notifications in Android app settings. Permission to display notifications is separate from the token registration used by the messaging service. Disabling notifications does not automatically delete an existing server-side registration.
Internet access supports online features. Microphone permission supports voice input. Storage or system file-picker access, where requested by your Android version, supports exports and backups. You choose the destination when sharing or exporting records. Calculator or gameplay motion controls use device sensors; their readings are used for controls rather than business-record cloud storage.
7. Security
The account and cloud APIs use HTTPS, hashed passwords, authenticated sessions and account-based access controls. Administrative access is restricted. Local records and exported backups are not represented as end-to-end encrypted; protect your device, backups and account credentials. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security. Do not send passwords, verification links or sensitive payment credentials to support.
8. Retention and deleting information
Local records remain until you remove them or clear the relevant app data. Cloud account details and uploaded records remain while needed to provide your account and backup service, unless you request their deletion. Sign-out, disabling sync, or uninstalling the app is not a cloud account deletion request.
When synchronised records are deleted, the service can retain deletion markers and change history to prevent old devices from restoring deleted entries. Deleting an account requires removal of its associated cloud records and synchronisation history as well as credentials and sessions. Exported backups, shared files and guest copies on your device must be deleted separately by you.
Request account or cloud-data deletion
Email hi@jhoshnamedia.in with the subject Biz Tools account deletion. Include your registered email address and state whether you want the entire account and its associated cloud data deleted, or only specific cloud records. You can request deletion without installing or accessing the app. Do not include your password or financial records.
We may confirm the request through the registered email address to protect against unauthorised deletion. We will confirm completion or explain any data that must be retained, its purpose and retention period. Limited information may be retained where required by law or necessary for fraud prevention, security or resolving disputes; it will not be used to continue your deleted account. Provider-held data is also subject to the relevant provider's retention practices.
9. Your choices
You can use supported offline tools without creating an account, choose whether to enable cloud sync, edit or delete records, export backups, change speech settings, revoke microphone permission and disable notifications. Android settings provide advertising-ID and advertising privacy controls. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of account information or to raise a privacy concern. Additional rights may apply under the laws of your location.
10. Children
Biz Tools is designed for general business and productivity use and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect account information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided such information, contact us so we can investigate and remove it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when features, service providers or data practices change. The effective date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated through the app or another appropriate channel.
